A startup in the cybersecurity space looking for a visual language and implementation that would set us apart from typical SaaS software, while leaning on the "observatory" metaphor to clearly explain our method of attack surface management.
Concepting
Our CTO had the idea of an "observatory" as a metaphor for software that would be able to keep an eye on an entire attack surface (or "night sky"), making connections (or "constellations") for CISOs that would reveal direct insights about their vulnerabilities and asset connections. I took that information and handled the entire creative process from sketching to full asset creation across various media. The above image serves as a central anchor for the brand and for the various assets I create off of it.
Web
Here I've used Figma, Illustrator, Spline and Webflow to create 2D and 3D assets that then translated directly to our website.
Product Icons
At one point, we were working with four products at once. Now as a company we've focused on Observatory, but I used Illustrator to create icons for Observatory, File Guard, Email Guard, and Privileged Access Guard. These were used in presentations, documents, websites, and more.
3D
I got my hands dirty experimenting with Spline, a free web-based 3D app. Here I learned how to translate our graphics into 3D, which we felt would be a nice touch on our site.
Motion
Based on a script from our marketing director, I used Illustrator and After Effects to create this explainer video. (I also created and recorded the ambient background music on a synth hooked up to Logic Pro!)
Slide Decks
I built custom slide decks for our CTO and sales team (in English and French) with the illustrations I've created (below). It was really important to us that we stand out from a sea of competitors with a good amount of visual punch.
Illustrations
I used Illustrator to create a raft of vector illustrations for presentations, websites, and other pieces where they might be needed. (Thirty original illustrations in total.)
Handouts
Two examples of physical handouts I've created for sales expos across Europe. Cybersecurity software is complex and it was important for us to clearly explain our value prop as quickly as possible.
